on our way back from Johnson city where we watched our beautiful friends adrian and jasmine get married, we made an impromptu stop at burgess falls state park.
let me just tell you, the approximately 1.5 mile round trip hike to the waterfall was totally worth it. it is a tiny bit strenuous but amazing! these pictures were taken at the base of the 136' lower falls, the biggest of the four beautiful waterfalls.
who knew that middle Tennessee had such a masterpiece!

tent life
tony surprised me with a trip to the beach. he showed up after I got off
work and had the car packed and ready to go!
but...my friend Joana had called me two minutes earlier saying she was in labor! after much convincing, we stayed in Nashville until that night after sweet Jennah made her dramatic appearance.....
so! we left at 330am and got there with plenty of time to enjoy some beach time!
we stayed in Santa Rosa Beach in a tent. at the Top Sail Park. we love camping and we love the beach, so it was a perfect trip for us.
obstacles we encountered: rain, fire ants, roaches, "sand gerbil" (rat), heat, melting ice, sleeping on a blow up pool float, desire to move to florida every single second.
in Alabama on the way back, my grandma said "y'all are the only people I know who can't relax on vacation!" true, we may not have had an ocean view hotel room with air conditioning or even a bed but we had each other, we had the sun, our campfire, the ocean.
livin on love. and tony has a ponytail.
and we are in love with this trailer by the ocean. ok peace out.

house
my sweet husband has been working tirelessly on the house for months and months. the outside is looking pretty good, and the inside is just about done too!
also. if you'll notice, it is almost completely empty. i woke up the other day to tony telling me we were having a yard sale. so i look at the window, and there was a sizable crowd in our yard looking at our stuff.
now, a normal person would have freaked out. but all these hoarder shows and people with houses full of stuff they never use has made me into the anti-hoarder. i literally gathered up everything that we could possibly sell. down to the couches and our tv and our sugar and flour containers. thus, the empty house pictures.
we almost had a yard fight when this old lady was trying to buy a mirror that had already been sold. and i almost had a panic attack when another old lady asked if we had any trinkets for sale. I HATE TRINKETS!
anyways, that being said, we have had one old guy in a Lexus, one cute couple, a girl and her mom, a rich guys daughter, and a real old fashioned realtor showing on our house. and it's not even on the market. nor does it have bathrooms. or kitchen countertops.
we are so close to being done and going on an adventure, we can hardly stand it!
i hate wordy blogs, so i'm stopping now!

odyssa
well all y'all out there thinking we've lost our minds for attempting the Appalachian trail....
we are nowhere close to being as adventurous, brave, or CRAZY as this lady we went and heard tonight.
her name is Jennifer Pharr Davis, and she has done the Appalachian Trail 3 times!! 3!
she holds the women's record for the fastest thru hike as well as the overall record! she did 2181 miles in 46 days!!
we went and heard her speak tonight at MBA (yes we were the poorest people in the room) and got to meet her and ask her anything we wanted! she was so amazing and sweet and inspirational! and so, so encouraging!
i can only hope to be as adventurous as this astounding woman!

tip a canoe
me and my lovely coworkers Erin and Cari had a couple days off and wanted to take a little trip!
we decided to go to tip a canoe on the harpeth river....
we saw a couple WATER SNAKES (ugh) and lots of cute, cute turtles!
we did 13 miles and only went the wrong direction a couple times!
perfect day with some funny, sweet girls!

Nevada
Well, we bought our first house. We don't have a cute little picture by a SOLD sign but we (Tony) have had quite a project on our (his) hands.
I'll admit, I have not been very helpful whatsoever in the home renovation/restoration. Tony, on the other hand, has done an amazing job transforming it to a wonderful home for some lucky family! I can't describe how hard he has worked. I know he may feel overwhelmed sometimes, but it is truly turning into a beautiful home.
Here are some snapshots of the unfinished portions. Finished pictures will come after I clean! The descriptions of the pictures are in no particular order so use some context clues:
our guest bedroom, kitchen, luxurious shower head, AND three of the most beautiful (I think) items in our home....might I add, my wonderful husband installed and hardwired the chandelier all by himself!
...also, I had no idea I could blog from my phone, so there will be more frequent updates in the future!
